The jazz ride pattern: ding, ding-a ding, ding-a. Quarter notes on the ride cymbal with a skip note on the swung last third of beats 2 and 4, and the hi-hat foot closing on 2 and 4. It is the time a jazz rhythm section lives inside: the bass walks under it, the piano comps against it, and almost every swing groove in this dictionary assumes it even when no drummer is written. Listen for the skip notes leaning into 2 and 4 — that lean, not the triplet itself, is the swing. Practice: sing it while you comp, and keep your own accents off the beat it already owns.
