Paidushko (limping), the Bulgarian 5/8: two beats, short then long — 2+3, quick-slow. It is the smallest aksak there is, and it hops: the first step is snapped, the second lingers. The tapan booms on both beats and the switch fills between; the accordion afterbeats keep the music bouncing. Listen for the second beat being half again as long as the first. Practice: count 1-2, 1-2-3 and lift your foot on the long one.
